The sign that puts you to Sleep

have you ever noticed that if you sit under the sign that reads "Please give up this seat to someone who needs it more than you do" on the MRT, you are sure to fall asleep, no matter how alert you were before you sat down! How bizarre! So anywayz, i was on my way to work on Singapore Favourite's mode of transport and happened to be standing next to an elderly man, i dare say to be more than 80 years old. Of course he had to stand next to me for the better part of the journey, the people who had their backsides supported by this thing called a chair were all in lala land.

At this point in time, no amount of propaganda is going to work, call it lack of civic mindedness, self-centredness or other politically correct terms, doesn't matter, it's NOT going to change! so for singaporeans like you and me, just grit your teeth and bear with it. when i have plucked up enough courage, i just might tap the sleepy man in front of me and give him a piece of my mind, maybe 2 pieces depending on how magical the seat is!

    Be Nice to Mama

Ok, your mum may be really pwetty and gorgeous, slim and sexy and she charms the socks off both men and women and you can't wait to show her off to everyone at Plaza Singapura. But please, for the sake of a higher power, refrain from wolf whistling your MOTHER!

We were looking at this exciting coffee gadget, set to infuse my life with energy and vitality when lo and behold, this piercing shrill rang throughout the building. My bones rattled in fear. Who else could be carrying a child and wolf whistling his mother on the 2nd floor? and one would think that doing it just once was enough, no, he went on and on and on. If by now, she did not respond, she probably for the life of her, wouldn't respond at all! A person with adequately developed grey cells should have the common sense to S-T-O-P! And of course we all knew he was calling his mum and not the attractive sashaying lady beside her. "EEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-BOOOOOooooooooooooooo" 2 unfortunate incidents in a day. Enough said!

    PLEASE GET OFF

so we were at the entrance of the carpark at Plaza Singapura on yet another conjested evening, waiting patiently for our cashcard to be read. To our left, the hordes of shoppers stand in line for the blue hazardous cars who swing precariously our of the driveway and into our paths. This particular car alighted a conservatively clad lady and her sons and did the dark skinned driver signal right? can't remember coz before we know it, he POTONG JALAN! (notice the use of another language) O my gosh, that was some sneaky act, pretending to alight passengers, giving us the impression that he was going off, but instead, he took advantage of our kindness and generousity and cut the queue. Did i mention that it was a conjested Sunday evening so the line of cars behind us was certainly not shorter than an MRT. We honked our heads off but i could sense his gleeful face, patting himself on the back for a job well done. Some smart people equate inconsiderate acts to creativity and see selfishness as his best trait. Well, there was little we could do. No amount of justification or time could heal the wounds inflicted as this will just go down in history as yet another incident by a particular group stereotyped to do just that.
